ABOUT QCRU
Queensland Country Rugby Union is a volunteer run association with the mission to give country players from all over Queensland a State representative pathway, otherwise not available. We want to showcase the vast talent across our state and give every player the opportunity to make selection and be seen by representative selectors to be considered for higher honours and selection – the same opportunities that our city counterparts.
Over the years, many Queensland Country players have gone on to represent city, state and country, and those numbers continue to increase each campaign.
COMMITTED TO COUNTRY
Queensland Country is also committed to helping Country clubs and associations with reach, education and engagement. This year saw the introduction on Queensland Country Combines -community coaching master classes for coaches and players to increase their knowledge and bring a collaboration of skills and knowledge together in each region for the benefit of all involved in oursport.
Country rugby continues to grow across Queensland – and Queensland Country Rugby Union will be there every step of the way to support each and every player, coach and official to be the best that they can be and enjoy the rugby journey along the way.

To foster the growth of Rugby in Queensland Country by promoting inclusivity, equity, and excellence at all levels of the sport, while upholding the highest standards of governance, financial independence, and collaboration with the Queensland Rugby Union.

THERE IS NO ‘I’ IN TEAM
The Queensland Country Rugby Union Board is made up of volunteers, as are the coaches, managers and support staff who give their time to the Queensland Country Program, and the thousands of players involved in rugby across Country Queensland.
100% of the funds raised by Queensland Country are invested back into the players and staff to make their rugby journey as fulfilling and affordable as possible for everyone involved.
